Congress has begun the process to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, including provisions to defend Planned Parenthood. These actions will be detrimental to millions of Americans who depend on ACA and Planned Parenthood for everything from routine preventative care to life saving medication, including millions of cancer patients who are now only able to be covered for their life saving treatments because the ACA bans insurance companies from denying coverage due to preexisting conditions.

If you feel that Congress should NOT take the steps to defund ACA and Planned Parenthood, please take 5 minutes tomorrow to call your representatives and Senators. Please also forward this message to any friends or family who may feel the same way.

You can find your reps/senators and their contact information here: You may use the below script, or your own words:

Hi, my name is (NAME). I am calling from (zip code).

I am urging (Rep/Senator Name) to not support the repeal of ACA. I am also urging (Rep/Senator Name) to speak out against any attempts to strip federal funding for Planned Parenthood.

ACA saves millions of American lives. If there are flaws in the current system, you should work to fix them, rather than depriving your constituents of the health care that can be the difference between life and death. “Repeal and replace” is empty and dangerous rhetoric that masks the fact that no viable alternative has been proposed. Please stand strong and express compassion for suffering Americans, including many of your constituents, who desperately need this health care in order to live their best lives.

Federal funding for Planned Parenthood shouldn’t be stripped over a single issue. Planned Parenthood clinics offer many essential health services, including breast, cervical, and ovarian cancer screenings. These screening, and other women’s health services, are vital to the health and well-being of thousands of women across our district and state.

Thank you.
